MAC Lipstick Haul

I suppose you could say that I am a MAC lipstick fan. Okay, truth is that I'm a massive MAC fan. I often catch myself looking up swatches and making wishlists. Well, a day came where I was given a gift certificate to the MAC store, and I splurged a little. I love every color I bought. Three were purchased by me, and the red was given to me by my friend, Kristi. (And I am SO glad she did, cause it's a gorgeous color!)

From left to right: Lovelorn, Crosswires, Rebel, Riri Woo

MAC Lovelorn Lipstick ($15) is described on the MAC website as an emotive blue-pink. I think of it more as a medium pink that is quite sheer and natural. It does have a slight cool tone to it which is flattering and very pretty. My skin leans a little on the yellow side, and I find this shade isn't too cool to be flattering on my skin. I think that fair folks, like me, can easily pull this color off, but I also think that you tan girls will really enjoy this shade. This is a very mature pink. It's not barbie-ish. Not bright. An even pinker version on Creme Cup. I love the Lustre finishes from MAC. They are comfortable, glossy, and don't accentuate my dryness. Lusters offer a sheer coverage that can be built up to full. This is a really great color!

MAC Crosswires Lipstick ($15) is a gorgeous color!  It's a bright coral-pink that isn't TOO bright - or too muted for that matter. In fact, this shade is actually quite wearable! I love wearing corals, and this one has quickly become one of my favorites. Crosswires has a cremesheen formula, which makes it glisten and feel wonderful on the lips. It also has a ton off opacity!! Very high coverage. There is also a VERY subtle gold sheen which I only can see when I'm in direct sunlight. This is a must-own!

MAC Rebel Lipstick ($15) was featured in my 2013 favorites! This is a gorgeous lipstick! My husband, who generally isn't a fan of dark lip colors, actually really likes this color. (That always makes it more fun for me to wear!) This shade is strikingly dark in the tube. I was a little nervous when I first opened it and saw the color. But, when applied, this color goes on much more bright and magenta-y than the deep-vampy color that you see in the tube. It's gorgeous. A cult classic. And rightly so.

MAC Riri Woo Lipstick ($15) was a gift to me. I have a hard time with reds. They make me uncomfortable. I never feel like they look right on me. Some transfer too easily. Some are too warm. Some are too cool. Others to glossy and some too matte. Too dark. Too orange. Too bright. But, when I first tried this baby on my lips, I knew I found THE one! It is a matte lipstick with a very classic feel. It's comfortable and flattering. I am so glad I have this one in my collection!

  2. I've been wanting to get rebel for awhile and now that I've seen it on a fair person I'm extra excited. Do you wear a lip liner with it since it's dark?
